A catch up with Elle…

We know that deciding which career path to take is an important and often challenging decision, but it can also be an exciting one.  So in honour of National Apprentice Week, and in particular the “Making an Impact” theme for employers, we thought it would be fascinating to hear from our own apprentice, Elle to see how the apprenticeship scheme has benefitted her whilst also being a brilliant addition to our company.

Here’s what Elle had to say…

“I have worked at National Maintenance now for just over 2 years and honestly, it has been a pleasure. When I first started this apprenticeship, I shadowed my office manager Hollie and helped her out with her workload, making purchase orders, matching delivery notes with invoices and answering emails.

My job role has evolved so much since starting and I am now the Customer Care Assistant. This role consists of making sure our clients are always receiving the best service from us and choose not to go elsewhere! I make sure they are kept updated constantly throughout jobs so they aren’t left in the dark. I also make sure the operatives are fully booked up, I arrange dates with clients, ring old quotations and follow up with revisits and job sheets.

I would say my job role helps massively with my apprenticeship as you are able to relate a lot more to the task sets, you can make them a lot more meaningful and personal. Without having my job role or the experience I have now gained from the 2 years spent at National Maintenance, I would not have been able to proceed with the course.

The best part of my role is  making clients happy and making their life a lot easier by doing my absolute best to ensure that they are booked in and dealt with quickly,  with the best service possible.

To anyone who is thinking of doing an apprenticeship, I would say go for it! It provides you with so many life lessons that things like schools cannot provide, in such a short period of time my knowledge has hugely widened not only in the maintenance industry but in general life. Even the little things like being able to pronounce words correctly and knowing when to adjust your tone when in a professional environment are so important.

I would not be able to do any of this without all the staff at NM so thank you very much!!

We’re really proud of Elle and her recent achievements, a massive well done from all of the team at National Maintenance!

As always, if you need a fast and quality response to your reactive repairs, get in touch today. We have our helpline open 24/7 so we’re always available when you need us.
