A Legionella risk assessment is required to cover water systems in any commercial premise. This includes rented housing particularly where communal services are present.
We would always recommend an annual review to ensure the systems are being safely managed. But if you’ve had changes to the water systems the risk assessment will need to be updated.

Flushing of outlets: This is important because in pipework bacteria can build up if its sitting in the pipes, by doing the monthly flush on the outlets stops this from happening.
Shower head cleaning: Prevents the build-up of grime and limescale by using a descaler and disinfectant.
TMV Testing: This is very important in places like care homes, schools, hospitals. These valves mix the hot and cold water to give you a temperature that will not burn the skin.
If the valves fail, scalding water will come through the taps.
